Level 1: Site Inspection and Tune-up

The site inspection is the first step of any audit and provides basic information about the landscape and irrigation system.   Its main purpose is to identify obvious problems. Minor adjustments to the irrigation system can be made during the inspection, however sites in need of repair cannot be audited until the repair work is complete. Following the inspection you will receive a report that highlights problems and recommends improvements or repairs.

  • A site inspection provides information on:
    • The features available in your controller that relate to irrigation efficiency
    • The current program in the controller
    • The condition of each irrigation zone determined by activation of each zone to:
      • Identify sprinkler types and number of heads in each zone
      • Identify problems in each zone
      • Make minor adjustments to improve coverage
    • Identification of plant materials, densities, slopes and microclimates in each zone
    • Location and number of the water meter(s) that supplies the system
    • Static pressure at the point of connection
  • What we will need from you:
    • A site plan, if available
    • Access to your controller(s) and landscape (1)
    • Access to the water meter(s) and permission to contact the utility about your account (2)
  • What you will receive:
    • A report containing the information gathered during the inspection and recommendations for repairs and maintenance of the system
    • Information on available rebates and other financial assistance for audits
