This study looks at the entire phenomena of submetering and allocation billing techniques examining the potential water savings, regulatory issues, utility concerns, water rates, and regulatory climate.

Supermarket Efficiency Study (CALFED)
Urban supermarkets are major water users, especially their cooling equipment for refrigeration. This study looks at use of various water treatment systems on the coolers to reduce water used for bleed, and use of high efficiency plumbing fixtures and faucet controllers in the rest of the store to reduce water use.
